About Tomo Bouldering Club

We aim to welcome and challenge climbers of all levels, fostering growth and building community. We’re also focused on pushing our industry through fair and equitable compensation, a supportive work environment, and increasing diversity in the indoor climbing professions. We’re a start-up business and are excited for you to join us on this journey.

Role and Responsibilities

As a routesetter, you play a critical role in creating our climbers’ experience. Our routesetting is a major part of what defines us and plays an outsized role in our business success. You will be responsible for stripping of the climbing surface, washing holds, setting boulders, forerunning boulders, and maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy set shop. You’ll participate in discourse about the quality of our climbing and boulders and how to improve them. You’ll operate tools safely, wear personal protective equipment, use ladders safely, and keep work zones clear of hazards. These responsibilities will also extend to climbing competitions and events. We are looking for candidates who are excited to build community through routesetting, are open-minded, and open to multiple different setting philosophies. Ideal candidates will be familiar with setting and forerunning most climbing terrains, difficulty levels, and styles. Our routesetting team will consist of 2 setters, total, with occasional guest routesetters.
