Location: Redpoint & Flashpoint Bristol

Contract: Part-time (3 days/week: Monday–Wednesday)

Salary: £33,000 to £35,000 pro-rata, depending on experience

Start Date: August/September (or as soon as possible)

We’re excited to offer an opportunity to join Impact Route Setting as a Chief Route Setter, leading our route setting team across Redpoint and Flashpoint Bristol. We’re looking for a passionate, experienced setter who’s ready to lead, inspire, and ensure the highest quality climbing experiences for our community. This is a key leadership role within our setting team, ideal for an experienced setter ready to take the next step in their career. You’ll work closely with Impact’s directors to shape the route setting experience across both centres and play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing our team of Assistant Route Setters.

What You’ll Be Doing

● Leading setting days as Chief at both Redpoint and Flashpoint Bristol.

● Ensuring consistent, high-quality route setting tailored to each centre’s needs.

● Managing day-to-day setting operations, team progress, and quality control.

● Supporting and mentoring Assistant Route Setters along their development pathway.

● Helping to plan and deliver events, competitions, and workshops.

● Building and maintaining strong working relationships with site teams.

● Upholding and implementing Impact’s setting policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Experience

● At least 2 years of professional route setting, including rope setting.

● Experience in leading or coordinating route setting teams.

Desirable Experience

● Experience developing or mentoring less experienced setters.

● Experience in team or operations management.

● Relevant Qualifications, including: RSD (rope and boulder), First Aid, MEWP Licence (3a and 3b)
